The College of Teachers

What is the College of Teachers

The College of Teachers is the central governing body of the School, which guides the School’s direction and pedagogical policy.

Make up

The College is made up of experienced teachers who are fully committed to:

  • the Steiner curriculum and its anthroposophical basis
  • investing time and energy in steering the development and operations of the school on that basis

Current College members are:

  • Margaret Sweaney
  • David Stephenson;
  • Karen Brice-Geard
  • Ray Shore
  • Julia Sherriff

Beginning teachers (first and second years) and teachers who are in their first year at Raphael House generally need to focus on their teaching responsibilities and are therefore not part of the College. Teachers may ask to join the College or the College may approach teachers and ask them if they would like to join.
